Lecture Series

Makerere@100 Lecture Series are well-curated lectures designed to celebrate the culture of ideas, and intellectual discourse that has characterized Makerere University over the last decade. 

Purpose:

The Makerere@100 Public lecture series is an opportunity for Makerere University to engage with the Makerere community of students, faculty, and management, the general public, Public and Private Sector players, to inform and educate the community through leading open discussion of issues that confront our nation, our region, and the world. The lectures also provide a platform for the University to share knowledge, that will best position Makerere in its journey of another 100 years.

The Structure:

The Lectures are organized along with different topical themes that are relevant to institutional and Nation building. Some of the brightest minds in the Makerere University community and beyond, are invited to speak and engage with students, faculty, and management. 

The 2022 Makerere At 100 are commemorating legacies and individual achievements and contributions from some of the outstanding Makerere Alumni and other African icons.
